2015 Explorer Sport
Hello to everyone, first post here and greetings from the Philippines

Recent owner of a 2015 Explorer Sport. So far, very happy with my purchase. This forum has been great to get a better understanding of the car.

I've been in discussion with Ford Manila regarding 17N03 and they've been helpful. One of the dealers I spoke to there knows my car and has done most the maintenance on it since new. What's interesting is he is sure that 17N03 has been carried out on the car, while myford says that particular recall is still outstanding. The sulfur smell under heavy acceleration is still very evident and I cant find anything in the cars history to confirm it's been carried out.

I'm wondering if there is any way I can visually check to confirm my suspicion that the recall has not been done so I can push them to carry out the bulletin. I checked out the long thread at the top and understand there might be two foil backed patches in the transmission tunnel along with some rubber bungs around the tailgate? Would any one mind pointing me to exactly where I can spot these?

Appreciate all great help :)

An easy way to check is to look at the hatch drain valves. The old style ones should have been replaced with the new style and I believe they glue the new style ones in place whereas the old style ones can move and be knocked out easily.

Hi KayGee and fjc2,

Appreciate you guys taking the time to reply... the video is exactly what I was looking for along with the advice on the drain valves.

Thank you again :)

Thank you, Peter :)

The advice given has been great, I was able to check myself that 17N03 has not been carried out yet. I can go and have a chat with Ford Manila tomorrow to get it completed.

Cheers :)
