I am still relatively new to this site, having only joind in Dec.2011 and this being my 1st posting. I recently bought a 2000 Explorer at a huge discount due to it needing a complete rear differential re-build.(inner pinion bearing failure) I purchased the "Haynes" service manual only to find the only mention they make in regards to a rear "diff" re-build is to say "it is beyond the scope of your home mechanic"... So through the information I primarily gathered off this site I was able to perform the repair myself. 2k later the rear is going stronge and I couldn't be happier! Thanks to all for all the great tips, "how to" information and specs. A valuable resource for any home mechanic.
