Good morning. I see to have this issue with an airbox that vibrates when coming to a stop or at idle. It doesn't happen all the time, but when I checked the airbox was vibrating rather hard. Does not seem to effect engine performance. From what I have read could be the iac valve. Any insights?

Thx.

I dont have an airbox anymore but i get the same vibration through my pod filter and intake tube, unfortunately i havent being able to fix it yet , but i have cleaned the iac unit a couple of times and each time it stopped the vibration for 24hrs or so . this leads me to believe that the iac unit is at fault, and when i get some money ill be buying a new one.

hope this helps

I've Got The Same Exact Issue. I Bought My Truck About 5 Months Ago With 99k 03 Eddie B. Didn't Notice The Vibration Until About A Month Later. I Was Considering Changing My Intake Box To a K&N Intake Sysyem. If AnyOne Finds a Solution Plz Let Me Know Thanks

I had the same issue with my 2003 V8 Ex, can definately confirm its the iac valve. I tried cleaning mine several times, worked for a day or then went back to the problem again. As soon as i replaced the iac unit it was fixed, and has not returned since (4 months or so)

i got mine from rockauto.com for like $100 or there abouts which was great considering Ford Australia wanted $300 for the same unit

I noticed a rough idle when hot, especially with the ac on. It started after my IAC crapped out and I replaced it with one form AutoZone. Hmmmm, Maybe I need a new one.

$55 bucks says its the IAC

I had what I would describe as the exact same issue. I used the term 'flutter' in the air box but you could say vibration as well. I also used to describe it as a bit of a gurgling noise.

In any case, after changing the filter cleaning the duct work I replaced the IAC valve with one I bought at O'Reileys for $55. It was a Borg Warner part I believe and took about 10 minutes to replace.

Definitely worth the try.

Confirmed. Took A Drive Out To Auto Zone And Ordered My IAC Valve Yesterday. It Came In Today And Installed My Self. Job Didn't Take No More Than 20MINS TOPS ! Mind You Never Performed This Before. Easy Fix. Also ForGot 2 Mention I Took a Ride Out Through The City And Zero Noise Coming From Engine Bay/Air Box.
