Ever installed a Vinyl wrap on there vehicles? I could use some tips, I am doing it myself. Planning on wrapping my hood top and rear lift gate. I kinda got the basics down. But would love some helpful tips :salute:

I have wrap on my company vehicle and have watched several installations over the years. Biggest thing from what I have been shown is a VERY clean vehicle. No wax. Tape wrap in place and slowly work it into place. On my Dodge Journey the installer used a heat gun to gently heat the material to stretch it to fit contours like the license plate recess. To me it is a talent and you may ruin an expensive wrap if your not sure what your doing. I have paid an installer to install all the striping and lettering on 3 vehicles here in CA and it has run about $200. Best of luck and would love to see pics when your done.

Thanks dude. I didn't know about the heat gun thing. I will give it a try. And i will definitely post pics when i am done!

i've watched a couple of vehicles being wrapped. there are definitely some tricks to the trade and some talent involved. the heat gun is a big part of it for stretching and shrinking the material to get the wrinkles out. w/out the heat gun it would be impossible to get a decent result.
