Wanna return my fog lamp setup back to stock.

Ok so my friend had my fog lamps on my 2000 XLT independently wired to a fuse from the battery to directly to a toggle switch in the dash and then to the lamps directly. Recently for about the third time since I've had this setup they just stopped working. It's frustrating because I have no idea how to return them to stock form. And on top of it, he snipped some wires from the old lamps and also from the stock button in the dash. I'm getting super frustrated with not having fog lamps and even more so because his method wasn't the safest. Can someone direct me to the right wire size to patch up the old setup and what I need to do. Wiring is certainly not my fortay!

If the stock wiring has been butchered up, it might be easier to just make a new circuit for the fog lights. Remove what your friend did and start from scratch. This is how I would recommend you do it

What type of wiring do you reccomend, so am I suppsosed to lead the new wiring to the relay box?? I'm a little confused the far right side.
