Yes Ive looked at alot of threads....
I dont want to do 2" or more with new keys..etc

If I loosen the screws how much could just that lower my Ex??
If I only do a little would the stocks style shocks be good instead of buying the aftermarket ones for lowered explorers....

Is there any shackles to lower 1" instead of doing a block kit?

I want exact directionsof what to do..
thanks

I have never lowered a X before but my mind suggests that if we can raise it 2" doing a TT, then I can't see why doing the opposite would hurt...I would highly suggest a new alignment after the drop, otherwise you will wear those tires out pretty fast...I also would recommend shaving about a half inch of rubber from the bump stops so you will not be hitting them all the time...as for the shackle, don't go smaller, the factory one is designed for proper rear end geometry and think anything shorter would rub on the frame...since the axle is already over the spring, just go with the block kit, actually way easier then replacing a spring shackle.

Good luck with your low stance and keep us informed on how it rides.

If your going down only 1" all wou need to do is back out the torsion screws a little. Measure from the ground to the fender well till you get the height you want.. Your stock schocks will be fine with it only an inch lower. Blocks is the way to go in the rear. I got mine from JDM for 25 bucks with U bolts. once your done check your clearance at your bumpstops...rear should be fine but you may need to trim the fronts. once your don get it aligned. I got most of my info using the search option but I did have a few questions befor I did it. I took mine down 2" and it actually rides better than it did before.

To do the screw do I just loosen the screw or do I need to secure the key with a gear puller etc and then loosed a little then drive around and see where it settles....

do I put the cover on while just driving around the block..?

My heights right now as it sits...

Front Left 32 1/2"
Front Right 33"
Back Left 32 1/4"
Back Right 33"

This is from ground to the same point on each fender centered on the hub.....

You don't need to take anything off, just loosen the bolt. you can actually take the bolt all the way out without the key popping out although I don"t recommend it...it will just rest against the adjuster plate. The only time you need the puller is when your removing the adjuster plate to take the key out.

Fenders are not a reliable measuring point. Use the lower control arm bolts, measure to the center.

Sounds like you have a rear leaf sagging, giving you the gangsta lean. The rear left is sagging, which will bring the front right up a bit.

^^what he said. I only used the fenders cuz I wanted the wheel gaps to be the same.....OCD what can I say.

do I measure up to the torsion bar or the bolts on the lower to the frame?

Would it be sagging or just cause the gas tank is on that side and other crap in the back compartment (inside where electronics is)on that side....
I do almost have a full tank right now minus approx 3 gallons

I read in this site that you can swap your rear springs to oppisite sides to fix the rear squat.

To the bolts on the lower control arm attached to fron crossmember was
10 1/2" on the driver side
10 3/8" on the passenger side

Can I get a full 1.5" out of the screws???

Do I need to get the front tires off ground to loosen the screw??

then might just get the edelbrock shocks for it...

She can stay on the ground to loosen the screws. If you want to save some money on shocks go with some Nitro Slammers, I have them on mine and I really like them so far. They will custom make them for your X's ride height.

How much do those run? since the edelbrocks are $91 each

I got 2 fronts for $95 to my door. You won't need the rears since only the axle will be moving and not the shock mounting points. I'll probably get rears latter just so they match.:D
