Long story short: I need a new motor in my 2007 4.0. Bought it one year ago and now I'm having cylinder compression issues and my mechanic says I need a new motor.
I do have a warranty (not a ford/factory warranty) - 3 yrs or 36,000 miles.
While its been at his shop he discovered a small radiator leak and a maf issue.
I have been advised to NOT tell the warranty about those other 2 issues bc I need them to pay for a new motor. I have been told that's it be best for me to pay the cost of a new radiator and maf issue so that the warranty cannot use that against me.
My question: any advice on dealing with warranty companies when in need of a new motor?

Thank you.

Check your warranty and see if it covers the cooling system. A decent warranty should cover the engine/drivetrain components. Unless it's been run hot the small leak and certainly the MAF issues should have no bearing on the warranty.

Are you within the 5 year/ 6o,ooo mile factory drivetrain warranty?
