long story short i wa wrong about the depth of the water and now have a hydrolocked 4.0L SOHV.
(c is next to v , and i and a long night, sorry)

took the plugs out (broke one) and tried turning the engine over. by hand via the belt, doesn't move, with a screwdriver, from the starter hole, doesn't move, put it in reverse(5 speed m50d) and push it backwards, doesn't move.

I think I'm now in the market for a new engine, or at least a gasket kit and everything else a rebuild entails.

the tranny in the truck can still be returned for a full refund (500usd) in the next week

in a perfect world i would get my hands on a junk 5.0L, rebuild it, find a five speed to fit it and install both. (I don't expect that to bolt right in)
and add a snorkel...

any advice on how to proceed?

I advise you that you do not have a SOHC motor unless its a custom install.

I also advise you to use the search button.

SOHV

Thats an interesting one

oh wait, sohV is the engine, I misread it as sohC. usually theya re just referred to as ohv

wouldent the OHV be called a DOHV. lol

91-94's are all OHV, pushrod 4.0 V6's.
