Well, got off work early today, so I thought I'd take it off the paved road. I basicly just did some trail riding, nothing major. (I need tires, don't want to push my luck yet) I was extremly pleased. Stayed in 2wd, once I hit some sugar sand, and got a bit stuck, I put it it 4wd auto, and it pulled right out, and drove like it was packed dirt. I was shocked. I didn't expect it to pull out that easily.

Once I get some new tires, I'll do some more exploring (no pun intended) I stayed away from the mud, because I know the big boys rut out the puddles, and i'm not about to get my daily drive vehicle stuck in the mud, becuase someone with their big truck wanted to be a dick.

Yeah stay off the mud - its not worth it consdering where that mud gets into on the vehicle .. dry trail rides are more enjoyable :D

It is a good idea to hook up with others to go wheeling. The knowledge and equipment they have will make your off road experiences much safer and enjoyable. Plus when you get stuck, someone will be there to pull you out and get you home.

also next time put it in 4wd BEFORE you get stuck in the sand in 2wd

getting stuck in 2wd can dig holes that you won't climb out of even in 4, and if you hit that button and the truck didnt shift into 4x4, then what?

Congrats off road is where its at

I didnt need 4wd until i took a K turn in the trial....it was all solid packed except the sides....

i have off road'd before...used to have a 79 blazer.....6in lift up on 40's....didnt need 4wd often...lol.....although, it did have 2wd LOW which i loved.

Anyone know any trials in the SJ area? I go in the trails in Atco, only because I grew up there, and I know it's legal. I would love to see some new areas.
