What do I need to do to fit 33x10.5s

You are the man! Maybe it's just me, but they wear like crap on the Superdutys. Especially the 2005s and up. I don't every remember seeing any that were wearing good. Ever. Most of them were probably due to underinflation. All those stupid owners were trying to run low pressures to get a better ride. And none of them rotated tires....ever. But I'm still gonna stay away from them.

Kumho makes some GREAT MTs. I have a buddy who managed about 60k out of a set of Kumho 31x11.50s before he went to 33s due to the Kumhos being so old they were dry rotting. GREAT tires, low noise, excellent traction on/off road. If I didn't get a steal of a deal on a set of 34" LTBs I'd be going with 33" Kumhos.

...I am waiting for further reviews but the BFG KM2's look like they might be a really good tire...Goodyear has a new A/T, the "Dura Trac" might interest you...

I haven't read a bad review about the KM2 except for when the wives saw the bill.

i will agree with the fact that with everything stock 31's will almost fit right in but be wary of the word ALMOST i only did a 3" body lift on my 91 explorer and i barely snugged 33x12.50 i had to cut out all the way back to the front door and i can turn fine but if im turned and hit a bump it rubs BAD.

Our Goodyear rep had the Duratrac on his delivery truck when he dropped off some tires this week. They looked good and are pinned for studding which is awesome up here in the mountains...but they just aren't quite aggresive enough. I don't have a source for the BFG tires except the Big O next door...don't see them cutting me a good deal since I steal all their customers and constantly bad mouth their techs across the parking lot! The Toyo M/T, Cooper STT, and Goodyear MTR are not available for studding so that is one thing going against them. But I have a set of Cooper Discover M&S already studded that I ran last winter (about 3k miles) that I will probably swap out again. I also have this set of Toyo A/Ts with about 7k miles on them that I don't know what to do with. It's hard to justify another set of tires when the ones I have will probably last 2-3 more years. But the X looks kind of funny with the 2" lift I did and the stock tires under it. It almost screams out "I need bigger tires!" everytime I get into it. What a dilema. That's kind of why I wanted to hear everyone else's opinion on tires.

Hey Jon, aren't you running the Silent Armor? I like that tire alot also, but it is kinda spendy. Even compared to the MTR it's pricey. Give me your input on that tire. We used to sell them to a couple of my old fleet companies that were doing all the gas drilling out in Rifle. I did notice that they seemed to chunk off the tread on the really bad rocks they had out there. But they didn't puncture them like they were the BFG KOs and Firestone Transforces.

Maybe this is a silly question, but are most of you running the LT tires, or is anyone running the P series? Both of the sets of tires I own for the X now are LTs, but the Bridgestone Duellers on the wife's Expedition are Ps. That's what the guy gave me when he sold it to me (it had Michellin LTXs, but they were like new so he had me swap the Bridgestones off the Expedition he bought with the Michellins on his old one out as part of the deal) and they are still atleast 50-60% in the centers...the shoulders have that typical P series tire wear they get cause the sidewalls are so soft...and the toe was out about 30 degrees which probably didn't help. But they will last for the summer anyway and then we can have this tire discussion again as far as what would be a good year round tire for the Expedition so I don't have to swap out and own two sets of tires for it also.

Man, I'm rambling on and on and on and on and on and on and on and....anyway. Thanks for all the input. I hope I didn't offend you Ted, I appreciate your input.

There is a HUGE clearance difference between a 10.50 and a 12.50.

...Lol, me offended??? Heaven's no...;)

...We all have our preference's and that's what makes our vehicles unique...Just because I have ran the BFG A/T's for so many years doesn't mean I'm not always on the lookout for a better tire for myself also...:D

...I had Dunlop Range Rover's on my Ranger when I got it and it was a great tire for M/S, highway, and longevity, but just not aggressive for trails...

...Out here I can be in 3'-4' of snow, take a rock trail down to the desert floor, drive an hour and a half on the freeway in rain to get to the beach all in a matter of a few hours...That's why I like my 32x11.50 BFG A/T's on my Ranger...

...I run the MT/R's on my Project "X" and I am constantly looking for a better tire for it...The MT/R's are great for certain things, not so great for certain things, but I'm also going through them to fast...:(

..The new MT/R and Duratrac info...

...I would suggest shopping tirerack.com while searching for alternate suppliers and great pricing on tires...Many offroad shops including 4wheelparts.com and local shops will accept their prices when doing price matching and some stores will also deduct an additional 10% off the price or you could order from them and have them shipped to a tire store or even your house I believe...;)

...I would like to add, whenever I lived in the snow country, I always had to different set's of tires...Sounds like you already have one good set....

I read the reviews on the new MTR. I have to agree with all you guys...doesn't look like it was made to go offroad. More like it was designed to look good on those lifted pickups that never get off the parking lot. I guess you could run the fronts reverse and the rears regular rotation so you could have some traction in forward and reverse. ;)

I think Tirerack is overpriced. We get alot of tires shipped to us from them from our highend customers (BMW Audi Mercedes) and you can almost buy an extra tire for what they charge to ship.

I'll probably end up with two sets of tires for the Expedition as well. And you just can't beat a set of Cooper Discoverer M/S that are studded. I studded the last 3 sets of winter tires myself. :D I even got the wife to help out with the last 2 sets.

On another note, there was a Fair here this weekend and Big O set up a display of some tires mounted on rims. They had the Big O Bigfoot A/T and M/T...not a bad looking pair of tires. But the Cooper Discoverer STT that was next to them was the better looking tire. I compared the STT and Open Country M/T to eachother on the internet the other day and the two tires look almost identical. So I think I'm going with the Open Country.

Since they don't make it in a 33x10.50 I'll have to settle for a 31x10.50. I went and measured the old tires and kinda got a feel for what the new tires will look like and I think it will be ok for now...until we can go SAS and SOA. :D

Heyy i got a 98 x would i be able to ride 33x13.50x15 with just a rear shackle kit and tt???
