I stand corrected. Someone here does know. :D Wade, is that the complete description that Powertrax gives? If their unit works they must be right. So it's evidently D35 gears inside of a different housing, as some have been told?

Another interesting tidbit we learned while trying to get ARB to make us a front locker is that our unit is very similar to the one in the Dodge Durango. I think one uses C-clips and the other uses circlips or something like that. Anyway, if ARB ever produces one, they could build the same unit for both Durangos and Explorer/Rangers and just change one little item to make it work in both vehicles.

Jeff

When I was looking for gears I found some too. And Todd Curtis is running 4.56 gears so 4.88 I think will work too

I have a question...When you regear to a different ratio (say from a 3.73 to a 4.10) do you have to regear both the front and the rear, or is it just the rear? I have a 1995 4wd XLT.

YES you have to do both, otherwise one set of tires would want to go faster then the other set.(which is impossible unless your on Ice, and then you will break something!)

Let me see if i get it right.......
THe front end is : DANA Model 35, 27 spline, 10 bolt cover,IFS & ABS, non-reverce cut
And the rear is: 8.8 31 or 28 spline
So with this information i´ll buy the right set of gears for me.....
Thank you guys for all the help and support.......
another thing, do i have to buy an instalation kit for the front and anotherone for the rear??¡?¡
