I just bought the Zaino system, but I did not buy their scratch and swirll remove becasue I heard it was not good. Can somone please tell me what the best scratch and swirll removing product is? I have a green explorer and many tiny swirlls on it. I heard the meguires is good. Any assistance would be apprectiated.

Two recommendations:

1) 3M Perfect-It III Machine Glaze. Can be purchased at a paint and body supply house.

2) Einszett Paint Polish (green can). Probably will need to be ordered at someplace like the Autopia store.

I've heard that Meguiars DACP is good as well, but I have not used it, so I cannot comment on it. I've used the above two, and they work great in almost all situations. Of course, I also use a random orbital polisher and a cutting pad with these. They should work well by hand too, although the 3M is definitely designed to be used with a machine.

I use 3M's SMR. It works pretty well for me.

I like to use DACP, since 3M SMR has a lot of fillers. DACP is good for moderate swirls, but if you have a bad case, step up to the 3M Fine Cut products. Also remember to use polishes afterwards to restore the gloss and shine. I use AIO to do this.

i like Maquiers (sp) scrath X. it is really really good imo.

It depends how deep the swirls are if it's deep I go with DACP, but I use a PC. By hand I'd stick with 3M SMR.

Some products (3mSMR) have & leave fillers in the paint to hide swirl marks. Others polish them out. (Menzerna)
If you use Zaino you want the products that polish the swirl marks out. Zaino needs clean, unfilled paint to bond best. It will still work, just wont last as long and MAY not be as reflective.

I'm also Zaino addict, but I agree- Z5 is only for the very, very fine swirls. Sal Zaino recommends 3M if you MUST use abrasive products.
