Looking to buy a lift for my 91 Explorer. I am looking for something good, that will last awhile. I have read that I might find better parts from 3 or 4 places instead of getting one brand. Looking at a 6" lift with SAS in the rear.
I have read some horror stories about certain brands and the problems others have had with tech support and breakage and I would like to avoid this. I understand that it might be impossible to avoid, but would like to keep it at a minium. Any input is greatly appreciated.

You mean a SOA in the rear
SAS = Solid Axle Swap
SOA = Spring over axle

Be careful here, I built my lift slowly over time using compionents from differen manufacturers and it caused me some serious issues. Like running through 2 sets of tires in one year beacause Skyjacker radius arms cannot be used with James Duff 3" lift coils and drop brackets. Eventually I built cut and turned beams with some help from a friend, and got it allto work better then stock, but like I said it took some time and some companies componenets will not work with other pieces.

I have:
Skyjacker 6" lift coils
Rancho 9000 shocks
James Duff axle pivot drop brackets (2" drop, cast piece)
Superlift Superrunner steering and 2" drop pitman arm
Skyjacker extended radius arms
Superlift 4" rubber brake lines
and finally Custom 3" cut and turned D35 beams with 1.5" wider then stock track width built in.

Skyjacker 4" rear leafs for a BII with 2" Superlift tappered blocks, Rancho 9000's in the back. Stock shackles (for now)

Yeah 410 SOA..I dunno what I was thinkin'

DUH!
