Okay I have a 91' XLT 4 Door and Im looking to possibly lift it and get 32 or 33" tires on 31's at the least but I really would like 32s.

The truck will be mostly all onroad with some mild off-road driving once in a while.

I am on a budget trying to spend AS LITTLE as possible to do this. I am going to have to work done at one of two local 4x4 / Suspension shops around here as I dont have the space/knowledge/time/tools to do it all myself.

Okay so what do I need as far as a lift goes? Will like a 2" or 3" Suspension lift give me enough room??? What exactly should I get, names and links to places to purchase online would be greatly appriciated.

Now what tire would you guys reccomend that will still work well with my stock rims? again with maybe an approximate cost, maybe BFG's??

Lastly will I need to upgrade my shocks at the same time? Again any reccomendations along with approx. cost and online links if you have any.

Thanks again guys, maybe if anyone has had something similar done at the shop you could post what it cost you when all was said and done and installed.

Thanks a bunch
Matt

Ran the 2" SkyJacker for awhile..cheap and worked well, ran the BFG 31" At for awhile...cheap and worked well..When I did the lift, swapped to Rancho 5000's, cheap and worked well..

Good Luck
BTW, did all the work myself, so I have no idea what it will cost you.

If you are on a tight budget then you can get a 2" body lift and put on 31's. If you want anything bigger than a 31" tire then you will need a wider than stock rim. So 31's are what work. For tires, Pirelli makes an AT tire that fairly reasonable and has good tread. With a body lift you won't need shocks but you should upgrade them anyway to help the bodyroll. www.4wheelparts.com is reasonable and right now they have free shipping.

Get a 3" body lift and put BFG 33x10.50 tires on your stock wheels. Trim what you might have to in the front and you're done with a good looking X.:D

This would be the best option for a low budget. You won't need new shocks unless you wanted stiffer ones. Those tires will fit on the stock rims and they're the size you want. You'll just have to trim some of the front fender. Good luck with whatever you decide.

First off thanks to everyone that contributed, you are helping me decide on what the heck I should do :)

Now Special thanks to FenderGuy as he has given an option that gets me to basiclay what I want and at the lowest price. It looks like for 5 Tires + the lift + Roof Rack and Spare Tire holder I am looking at close to $1000, Plus whatever it will cost to install the lift, mount the tires, Balance and align it all.

Thanks again guys, I'm going to call the local 4x4 shop to see what this might end up costing me. Hopefully its not too bad and I can afford to do it in February.

Later
Matt
