I've got a 97 explorer XLT with the standard 235/75/15 rims. What are some cool looking street/sport tires that will fit on these rims. Can I go any wider that the 235/75/15? Any more info would be great. Thanks

ive got 255/70/15 on my '94. the tire store says it has the same circumfrance but is slightly wider.

I have a 94 that I have 33" BFG AT KO's on... Now granted, I do have 4" of lift... Stock you should be able to squeeze 31x10.50's... A friend of mine has an Explorer Sport with them on it... bone stock... You shouldn't have any problem with 10.50 width on those rims... I have 33x10.50's on mine right now and I've run them with 8lbs of air and had no problems... That's just my $.02.

Good luck!!

I saw in the 4 wheel parts wholesalers magazine an article about pro comp AT on a super duty. Well, the superduty, plus the camper, and the trialer I think it was 17,000 pounds, were on some 33x12.50 tires that were on a 7" rim. And they said it was fine. I am not saying you could run it, but if a tire that probably has a rating of 2,500 per tire x 4= 10,000, with 7,000 pounds extra on them, then the 7" rim should probably be fine on a 4-5,000 lb explorer w/ a 12.5" tire on them. No?
