Ok so here we go 1. What is this shock on my diff? 2.I just installed new break pads like 15 mins ago. I was hoping that this was the cause of my ABS light but it wasnt. Fluid Good. I saw no leaks when installing breaks and everything looked fine. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be? Could it be the rear speed sensor i hear they go out alot? Thanks for the help guys.

That is the infamous third shock. It is there to help with sway. Some notice if they take it off some dont.

Your ABS light could be a bad front or rear sensor.

I know the front one is in the hub. The rear I don't know.

well, according to monroe, its a steering stabilizer. theyre the only ones i know of that carries it

Yeah, I took mine off and i didn't notice a difference.

As for the ABS it could be any number of things. The rear speed sensor could be bad (on top of the diff housing) or one of the front ones could be bad (one in each hub assembly) or it could be your ABS controller or pump. Theres really no way to tell for sure without just replacing stuff or knowing someone with a reader that will read ABS codes.

Mine has been gone for years. I never noticed any difference whatsoever.

Kabukie's didn't even have one from the factory. It had this big steel weight thing attached to the front of the pumpkin where the shock mounts.

On the front sensors you have to buy the whole hub bearing assy. They are not availble by themselves.

Get the code checked first. Even if you have to pay to do so. Just throwing money at parts will be $$$$$$

well just replaced the rear ABS sensor and it fixed the problem. Although when i took it out there was a strong odor that came from the hole i can still smell it now. i took a pic of the old one it was covered in crap very nasty

gear oil really stinks, although if it is very dark and nasty, you may want to remove your rear diff cover and change your fluid. It's a good time to put some good synthetic in there. Oh and if you have a limited slip rear, get the LS additive as well.

It might be time for a change

Sorry-it was right there!--

Yeah, it's time to change the rear fluid-try amsoil and don't forget the trac lok additive if you have a LS differential
