I'm not an offroad person. I will go offroading a little (on the easy tracks) but I'm mostly a street guy.

I have stock size tires and I'm curious what type of tires would be good for street? I want wider tires.. all opinions welcome! ;)

id be interested in this too. i have the 98 sport SOHC, and id like to go a little wider than stock if possible (i dont do much off roading either...basically a street guy.) i still have the stock tires on there, what size/brand should i look into. (i realize that the stock tires on my truck are pretty wide already, like 255's or something, i think, and i know that if i go too wide, ill get some rubbing, but, obvisouly, like everyone else, i dont want any 'rubbage.')

thanks

My neighbor just got some from Sears for his vehicle, a Jeep, they are nice, ride well, and I think he said the warranty was for 50 or 60k. The tread is a street tread looks excellent for snow, and sand, dirt, in the Mud it will have problems but from what you said that shouldnt be a concern. I love the Michelin tires I have on my other 2 vehicles- non trucks.

good luck

i;m happy with cooper 31.5 10.5 15's >

quiet and good in the rain . i'm running sti\ock suspension with no rubbing . good kuck

All I can say is, I LOVE my Pirelli Scorpion S/T's and I LOVED my Pirelli Scorpion Zero's as well. Great handling/performance in conjunction with the 18s.

ah

well..those with 91-94s (235/75R15) can go to 255/65R16 to upgrade or even a 255/65-70R15 if you can find it.

newer Explorers (255/70R16) could probably step to 265/70R16 without much prob or maybe 285/65R16 on the stock wheels still. 285/55R17s would be super on the street.

Pirelli Scorpion ST, Michelin 4x4XPC and the LTX M/S, Goodyear Wrangler HP, and BFGs sport truck T/A are all super street tires for SUVs that are available for wider tires in these sizes. You can also just get your stock size with these tires and improve the street handline of your rig without getting a different tire size.

for the ultimate in peformance tho, (once youve slammed the 2WD rig) its hard to beat the 17-20" performance sizes wrapped in Toyo/Nitto/Pirelli/BFG rubber.
