I started a new job a few months ago and now that i'm finally making money I want to get a newer vehicle. Of the 5 I've owned, all have had over 100k miles on the clock. Lucky for me though, my dad said he would probably take over the payments on my explorer so I can still drive it whenever I want.

Right now I'm stuck between the following two. I want something sporty, and if used it has to have low low miles.

1. My friend from school is considering selling her car. 2002 WS.6 TransAm. 12,800 miles and in brand new condition. Has a 6 speed, leather, ttops, exhaust. I've had an 82 t/a and a 97 firebird so I've always been in love with these cars. She said a little over 20k she'd like to get for it. KBB value is 21k.

2. 2006 Toyota tacoma x-runner. It's got a 6 speed, 18" wheels, body kit, v6 engine (245 hp 282 tq). These are somewhat rare (3500 05s made) and I really like the look of them. MSRP is a little over 23k.

Anyone have any suggestions? I would like to do this within the next few months.

If you're gonna do much winter driving, go with the Taco...The WS-6 is a hot car, but won't like the snow very much....too much power and too little weight on the rear. Your insurance will most likely be much cheaper on the Taco too. The insurance on the WS-6 falls in the same category as a Vette or Viper.... (same place my Mach 1 is...)

Didn't know the insurance was so high on the Mach I!! My pop's got a Bullitt and I want to say that the insurance was the same as a stock Mustang GT but I could be wrong.

WS-6 would be bad-ass if you don't mind paying for it. Plus you say your dad's gonna take over payments on the X... Does that mean it's still yours to drive all the time? If so you got a winter vehicle right their. Something I wish I had always done was get a car I didn't need. ;) One of my friends has a 99 VR-4. Another has a SS (last year made, forgot year). And yet another has a 2001 Audi TT. I errored on the side of caution a got something dependable while my friends have their sports car and a beater. Wish I had done that. So I guess what I'm saying is, if you can afford the WS-6 I say go for it. Once you start having a family and stuff you might not get the oppourtunity to have something fun... Unless your wife is understanding. :D

I would suspect that the Bullit has the same insurance rating as a GT since it's very similar performance wise. The Bullit has slightly more horsepower and a bit more torque than the GT, but it's not that far away. The Mach has a completely different motor and significantly more hp and torque.

Yeah but the Mach only takes the Bullitt by like a tenth of a sec. 4mph faster... Not bad for a 2 valver against your four valver. :p

Needless to say after I get a garage I'm going to find a nice orange Mach (maybe the blue one) to park in it. My dad and brother are showing me up. One with the Bullitt and my bro's got an 05 GT...

Not quite sure about the Bullitt being that close to a Mach..published #s show the Bullitt @ 14.44 in the 1/4 and the Mach at 14.12...However, I've had my Mach on the track in stock trim at 13.85.

go to toyota, better multi perpose vehicle, as practacal as it gets,, w/ that setup, but you dont wanna get killed w/ insurance,, and gas ,,

well it's october and i still haven't gotten another car. i think i've decided i want an 01-02 ws6, now i just gotta find one with everything i want. low miles, 6 speed, black etc. i think now is the time (i'm 23) for a sports car before i get older and own a home or have a family etc.

and yeah my dad will take the truck, but if i ever need it (in the snow or whatever) he just drives it to the train for work so i would drive him there and take it for the day. pretty sweet deal.
