what transmission will fit a 04 explorer 4x4

just wondering what transmission will fit my 04 4.0 4x4 explorer and what trans does it have now.how do you tell witch one will fit or does only one year fit my trans. is going 2-3 rd gear flair thing happening . thanks for any help im looking for least expencive option $ to fix what would you do ..i bought a 04 explorer from my work it has 202,199 miles all highway miles nobody ever sat in any of the seats but the driver everything still looks like new in and outside only trans .flair and needs brakes all around i want to repair for cheap money!!!
