What tyoe of window tint will match my 97 xlt

I want to tint the front two windows on my 97. I want to know what type of tint I should ask the tint store to use because i want it to match my stock tint. I know some people have had this done, and I was wondering what they paid for it. So if anyone has any ideas on color or cost, please let me know, thanks!!!!

i'd say average cost for 2 windows is about 20 to 30 per window, probably will varry.

not sure on the percent, someone eles can help you there i'm sure

i beleive ford uses 50% tint on the back 7 windows of the explorer, i havnt had my windows tinted yet so i couldn't give you an estimate. sorry

the percents people refer to are the percent of light that is allowed to enter the vehicle from the outside. factory ford tint from 98 up i believe is 20%. i know the 95-95 are 20% but have a bronze gold look from the outside. I recall a few people on the board that have found tints similar to that color. However, i have a 2000 and mine came with the 20% black tempered glass. so i just got 20% on my fronts to match for now. Ill probably be doing another 20% for the back later on when i have time to wire some reverse lights. Id just go with 20% in the front, maybe if they are specialized in tints, they might have gold or bronze tints.

Im thinking about doing it to my 97 XLT mabe next week.
I think the back tint is about 20-35% its dark but not real dark.

from what several tint shops told me, the tempered glass that is factory tinted is 20%. however, it lets more like out from the inside than a 20% film tint. So if you put 20% on the front windows, it will match very closely to the factory tint, however, will be harder to see through from the inside than the factory windows in the back.

Around here at the best tint shops its 180.00 for the bach 1/2 and about 210 for the hole truck.

well itz 60 for the front and 180 for the whole truck with liftetime waranty. 160 without the warranty. it might be cheaper to get tints there.. but how much more do u pay for gas
