What would you drive?

Good luck, finding a car with 30k on it for under $3k. Maybe 100K mi.

Just do a search on autotrader and start from there. After you find a body style you like, start looking at prices. If you just look for a cheap car, you have nothing to compare it to, how do you know its a good deal. Ex. 92 escort 75k $2200, 93 Honda civic, 85K $3200, whats a better deal?

Honda's are nice, bet I think I would stick with Ford, parts are cheaper, easier to find, and often at the wreck yard. One suggestion, I'd go with a 5spd. A clutch is cheaper than a rebuild. I have a 88 2 door 5sp escort with 225K, no drivetrain probs whatsoever. You can probably pick up a 1st gen focus.

guess i missed something..... ???

btw.. i'd go the honda route too. i had an 88 and it got killer gas mileage and never had problems. weak and ugly.. but it did its job well!

Jumping on the Honda bandwagon here too. I had two friends in high school who both had 1987 accords and the most trouble they ever had with them in the two years we were driving in high school was the headlights getting stuck in the up position. Pretty decent cars power wise and the mileage is unreal...

id have to go with an old honda or nissan, but if the price range was a lil higher, id try to get an old oscar meyer weinermobile :)

You guys are all thinking of gas mileage...but I would pick up an old muscle car and rebuild it and throw in a big block. Who needs gas mileage? hehe...

Haha...good thinking. But with gas prices upwards of $1.70 a gallon, I'd think about a good gas mileage car.

that means nothing to me. Im Metric. Im Canadian. it is roughly 72 cents a litre. how many litres in a gallon? im soo bad at math.

4 liters/gallon, wow, thats 2.88/gal. That seems awful high considering, as mentioned earlier, you have your own oil
