what would your next offroad rig be?

Yota would be cool, i'm a fan of those too. All Pro off road has all the cool goodies to build a serious trail rig not to mention stuff to do a SAS. I beleive I saw on their site they have Yota axles with D60 outers. Those Yota birfields are the weak point in the front solid axles. Of course someone came up with stronger newfields to replace the birfields. I'm by no means a toyota expert, just go by what I read in the mags.
Whatever you decide on let me know and you can come over and use the welder if you start fabbing stuff.

Toyota front with birfields?

The yota will make a great rock truck for sure!
lightweight and durable.

You can get a 22r out of a later model Celica if I remeber right and drop it in there, possibly even a toyota straight six :)

Matt,

I used to consider Toyotas not as good as Rangers, but, after $6,000.00 in repairs to the Ranger in the past year, plus engine problems and a bad rear seal waiting to get fixed, I had to ditch my Ranger for a more reliable daily driver.

Matt,

There's a guy that used to frequent this board named Peter Colaccino. You can find him listed under 'Pcola' or something to that effect. He lives in San Diego (off the '15') and has both a 2" lifted Ranger (fenders all hacked out) and an '85 4 RUnner. He uses the 4 Runner to run the 'Hammers, and just looking at it, you wouldn't believe his rig would be up for the task. He home-built a belly-skid and lots of other nice things for it, and his total investment on the 4 Runner is somewhere around $6,000.00 PM me for his info on contacting him, because he takes both his Ranger and 4 Runner out on the trails, and can tell you the best of both worlds...
