What would you like to see in a Dyno test?

Sorry, I meant to say the compressor.

i would be very interested in ur results, i am also going to do a few tuning dynos with a company near me, and i'll have to see all he wants to do but i'll get more information when i get closer to point of me doing this. i figure i need some tuning on 103k expo, and my results will be with a clutch and fan, just for reference.

I've got it!! A Modded MAF sensor. I'll get a stock 4.0 MAF and mod it and we'll see both what HP gains there are along with the a/f ratio. This will be some excellent info!

Thanks, Doug.

I'd still like to see stock airbox/paper filter, vs K$N panel and removed silencer, vs an aftermarket intake. I'm thinking the aftermarket isn't really that much of a gain over the stock, espeically against just removing the silencer and dropping in a K&N panel. I don; think it is a step backwards and it is an easy bolt on/off proposition. Prove me wrong on my air intake theory ;)

i understand the difficulty of testing the catback.

I'm looking forward to the results of the "gutted" MAF, though I doubt there will be any significant positive changes.

I'm sure it will be a revealing and fun day for both of you. I'm looking forward to seeing what you find.

Did the E-fan make a noticeable difference?

B

How about posting the normal operating temperature of the coolant. I am assuming that you are using the hot stock thermostat. Doug, how many of your customers have 180 degree thermostats, versus the 192+ stock stuff?

How about running conventional fluids for a run, then swapping to synthetic..
No excuses here, this is an easy adjustment, and worth seeing if the HP gain is worth the price..

Also, in response to the argument about Cats earlier, yeah you free up HP, but at the same time lose torque.. Am I wrong? When you remove or replace the cats, use lose backpressure and decrease your torque. What are you really accomplishing, if anything at all?

I am really interested in a run with and without the TB spacer.. Doug, I know you had an offer out for someone to send you one so it could be tested, so do not overlook that one. We wanna see actual documentation of a run with it, and one without it.. Lets see if the thing works.. Honestly, I think it does, cause I noticed a difference when I put it on. Let alone be worth it for the sound effect alone!

We are doing that.

When is this going to be done? Are ya'll planning on doing it next weekend or something?

No, I got a different dyno day for this weekend, 03' 3.9V8 Thunderbird, 02' GT w/100shot, 05' GT with a C&L and magnaflows and hopefully my truck too. Probably be in early April unless he can come up the following weekend. March 19th I have the V6 Ford Challenge and March 25 I have a dyno day in California with Explorer Express.

I'm on the move a bit? hahahah.

Later Doug.

Would this be anywhere near Santa Barbara?

It's going to be in Freemont at Advanced Tuning Products. They have a AWD dyno there. We have it pretty well full of X-charger customers but I'm thinking about taking in 2 more stand by's in case someone doesn't show or we have some extra time after we're finished. If anything if it's close please drop by, I love meeting new poeple and talking Performance that isn't Mustang and Lightning specific ;).

I'll make a dedicated post about it if we do decide to let two more run.

Thanks, Doug.

Oh the irony. I live here in San Francisco but got a transfer to Santa Barbara. We just bought a house near Santa Barbara. Escrow closes on March 11. DOH! So Im saying good by to the Bay Area as of March 10. Thats just poor timing Doug! :thumbdwn: :p

I have a couple questions for you anyway but dont want to post too far off topic. What is the best way to get ahold of you? I tried a PM but I dont think you got it.

I might have to go down there and watch. I'm always in the Bay Area.

No I didn't get it, I really prefer Email's as my popup blocker catches any notification popups and it's just alot easier to keep up with that way.

Thanks, Doug.

Any more suggestions for the dyno testing?

Would an ignition test be feasable? Something like different wires and plugs to see which give the best power?

hahaha yeah try those $200.00 a set Noxology " high performance " spark plug wires.

Just kidding Al, if you buy those I will loose all respect for you :)

Doug,

So what are some real Dyno numbers on a 4.0 with an X-Charger?

David.
