What year motor do I have???

How can I tell what year motor I have. According to K&N the throttle body diameter for a 2001 should be 3.5". Mine is 3" which is what they claim came on 2000 explorers. I have a 2001 v6 SOHC Explorer XLT built in 12/00. I'm questioning this because of the oom12 TSB. I think my car has the vacuum leak problem but ford says it was not made within the timeframe to qualify. How can I tell when my motor was made, can it be a 2000 motor in a 2001 car?

Do a VIN check on your truck.. I believe the Explorers with either E or K in their VIN were the ones that are effected for the recall. Go to Dead Link Removed and do a search to see if it your truck is affected.

My 8th digit is an E. All data says it has the 00m12 but it does not come up on the Ford dealers computer. What now.......
