i got purple ones in my clear headlights and they are pretty nice i went with purple because everyone uses blue and im getting yellow fog lights

good info, i might make my own harness, but i need new bulbs !!!

Those from ebay look exactly like the ones I bought from Best Buy a while back. They are blue...but they didn't put out any better light than originals. For me low beams were a little better, but highs were horrible. And, the first pack I bought only one was good. Returned and got another one, it lasted less than a year.

With a dual filiment bulb, isn't having the high and low beam on at the same time also cut down on the bulbs life?

hid's are the way to go. I have ero dezigns and i love them. THey put out plenty of light and on the high beams they are great.

True HID is the only way to get brighter light then halogen. As for the HI on with the LO Brad, a 3.99 relay from Princess Auto will do the trick. I can post a wiring diagram if needed.

Unlikely I'll do it anyhow. Was just curious because they don't list the prices on the site. If I do any lighting mods, I'd go HID but that won't happen any time soon. While I have you on the line, how do HIDs work with daytime running lights? Anything needed or just plug and play?

Just plug and play. When the DRL's are on, the HID's aren't dim like normal halogens would be. A reduced voltage is what causes the DRL's to be dimmer than normal LO beams and even at the reduced voltage, the HID's burn bright as they normally would.

with some of the HID kits you do loose your high beams. 96limited lost his when he did them but dam they are sic.

Yes, if you get a retro-fit kit you can loose your HI beams, but with more expensive kits you won't loose them. As for me, I put Sylvania Xenarcs in my F-150 and it's an HID LO beam and a Silverstar HI beam.

Is that a good thing? I would think you'd go through bulbs pretty fast.

what do you consider pretty fast?

HID's are like fluorescent lights, they use a ballast to start the light and use next to no power to keep them running. The average Lo beam halogen bulb is 55W and HID's give out more than 2X the light at only 35W. Here is a website that has a bit of info on HID's. As for them burning out, they should last somewhere around 2000+ hours
