Whats better than silverstars?

Try just unpluging your DRL module and throwing some tape over the connector or you can probably cut the Red/Black wire and tape both ends and see if that works. I don't see why unpluging it wouldn't work though.

I'm going to give it a try once the warm weather returns. Thanks for your help.

To add to the confusion, I did some research into disabling he DRL module today. Some say to simply unplug the module and DRL won't work. Others say you need to get some sort of cap from the dealer to mount on the connection to complete the circuit or the headlights won't work. Not really sure what the right answer is.

Too cold to climb under the Eddie to test the theories. ;)

Hey Brad,

I just went out and unplugged the DRL module on my '99 and it worked the way you'll want it to. The auto headlights work fine, and the highs and lows and fogs, just no DRL's. It's the grey plug in front of you driverside front tire above the fog light. Just tape up the plug and you're good to go.

As Monty Burns would say:

"Excellent".

Thanks for doing that. I almost checked myself tonight but it's cold and windy outside and the garage floor was pretty wet. Now I can try myself when the spring-like weather returns.

Cheers,

Brad

No problem  I figured since my X was here for 1 more day I'd go try it cause as of today after work, it's gone :(

Finally sold it, huh? Good news.

Gary, I did the deed. More expensive than some kits, but a highly recommended seller (lots of good press on other sites), uses Philips ballasts and bulbs, has great service and a bonus for me....is based in Canada (Thornhill, Ontario....my old home town) so no hassles with Customs. :can:

His prices were actually better than comparable kits using similar components (those prices are in USD, btw). Looks like I went with HIDS before headers after all. That's because I can actually do this mod myself. ;)
