Not gonna Comment, some stock civic's have 160hp, and some acura's have 200 hp stock.. that would eat your explorer

yeah.. just dont lose. i could creme hondas with my completely stock 98(except one that had a engine swap and turbo that i didnt know about until i heard that damn "tssssss" between his shift and ... it went downhill from there) i didn't race with my 33's, but now that i'm regeared i cant find anyone. i know my 4.56's will crush the competition ricer off the line.. but i duno about after that.

good luck, do the explorer name proud.

My '98 2wd Sport ran 9.67 @ 71.87mph in the 1-/8th. The truck had headers, 76mm C&L MAF,70mm t\b, bamachips tune, MAC CAI, 3" MAC catback exhaust.. When the truck only had the CAI and Exhaust it would run 10.teens to 10.20's all night long. No slicks, turn your od off leave the truck in drive and stall the truck to about 2300 rpm's leave after the second light, you will not redlight, and definately won't spin, maybe a hint of chirp but won't roast 'em ( I saw a 0.60 r\t with a 2.131 60'). If you get a good launch and use your stock tires there shouldn't be any question whether or not you will beat this guy.. I answered it for them all the time. A stock civic is lucky to get a mid to high 10 sec run.. With your truck being a 4x4 and I don't know whether you are a novice to the track you will probably see slower times than I stated I would guess 10.6's 11.0's. in the 1/8th with the stock tires. I just about live at the track and am very familiar with my truck and the tree. Just practicing at the track you will and could see 3-4 tenths reduction just modifying your launch technique and stall rpms.....GOOD LUCK. GO EAT SOME RICE!

1/8TH TO 1/4 MILE CONVERSIONS (USING THE FORMULA)
9.67 1/8TH --------14.87 - 1/4
10.17 1/8TH------- 15.62- 1/4
10.50 1/8TH------- 16.12- 1/4
11.00 1/8TH------ 16.87- 1/4 :burnout:

depending on the model and mods. ex has 130hp, si has 160, and the others have 110 to 120hp. and most idiot drivers ive run into in my days seem to think that its cool to launch thier cars bouncing off the rev limiter...ie no traction what so ever. just run your race, i dont see why your shouldnt take him....

You should win, base civic dynos at 100whp. Ive seen it. You should be fine. For insurance, put on the stock tires. My 127rwhp ranger(dyno proven) whipped stock 5 spd civics daily. Ha, not anymore with my 33s though.

That's when you go home for the mustang ;)

Your funny.. Did you mustang run 11.4 last year on 26.3 lbs of boost

I remeber when i would beat ZO6 corvette's on the freeway, and down shift into 4th and spin my tires @ 70 mph

Edit: Race the honda, you might win, you might loose, great... worlds fastest honda runs a 6.53@211 1/4 mile

dang lifted that mustang must have been making a pile of power...what was it?

I don't know. It hadn't moved in yet :p

If you would like to give me half of what was spent on a honda to get it to run consistent elevens..........I will drop it into the stang and annihilate it nauturally aspirated. :D
Getting a 5.0 into the 11's is quite easy with out boost.

If the civic beats you just run over him with those big 33s!

And it won't sound like a weed whacker ;)

ah i was wondering what the 24 lbs of boost was all about...with that in a mustang i think you'd be running a little quicker than that. but dang, sounds like a crazy little car, even though i hate em ;)

lets think about power to weight ratio....

Let's think about displacement.

Agreed, my son has an Acura Integra that will run circles around my X and that was when it had a non V-tek in it. Now with the new V-tek, skunk cam with adjustable cam sproket, high comp. pistons. new tranny 5 speed with closer gear ratios and super light weight valves and recipicating parts, suspension road racing springs from Germany that lower car 3", custom shocks and even light weight lower control arms, headers with cat-back pipes and after market ignition. And he pulls up along side of me on the Inter state. I just roll down the window and say sorry, can't race you, got a fish bowl on the front seat HA HA.

While he's still asleep sometimes I take it out to get a early morning coffee and I don't go down the interstate. I find the the most windy roads I can find. That thing will take roads that even Angles fear to tread. Lots of fun to drive. But again, I'll take my X and he can have his Integra, even though it was mine at first and I gave it to him for a graduation present. It's an apple to oranges thing.
