I loged onto tirerack.com come trying to order a set of BFG AllTerrain KO's. I got a message stating that Tirerack.com does not sell the KO's because of a program BFG has called the MVP Program. It said that BFG will not supply distributers with the BFG KO tires if they intend to sell them under BFG's suggested retail price. This is ONLY for the Ko's, not any other BFG tire. What's the deal? Why would BFG not even supply the tires to retailers? I would think that the retailers should be ablt to set their own price. Any info on this would be great, thanks.

tirerack.com and Explorer's

If you noticed, Tire Rack doen't even list the "Explorer" in their pull down menu. The "Explorer" choice was taken out about the same time the "Firestone Problem" arrised.
So I guess they don't want our business since they won't let us look up to see what can fit our Explorer's.
About the Price setting....
I think its a good idea, now no matter where you go to get BFG's they will all be the same price. So that you don't get over charged, or as others call it "Highway Robbery".

I think it "might be" price fixing -- and I think they should be careful and make sure their corporate counsel has research that well.

This is only an opinion and in no way is intended to be a statement of fact. It is legal under the libel/slander laws to state an opinion based upon facts (that BFG is, according to tirerack.com not wholesaling their tires to dealers that do not intend to sell them at or higher than BFG listed price).

By the way, screw them and their MVP program -- ever heard of a free-marketplace?

Of courser, I'll probably buy the BFG MTs later thie year anyhow?!?
