I have a 2000 2wd EB 5.0 V8. Ive wanted to get it lifted for a long time, and it finally looks like its going to happen. Im getting an SOA in the rear, and a spindle lift+TT up front. then on top of that a 3" body lift. I already have 35's and hopefully tomorrow ill be getting the rims to put them on. Id like to thank everyone that puts any info up on here, because ive read countless threads on many subjects (yes, the search feature actually works, go figure). Anyway, ill be sure to get some before and after pics for you guys....

P.S. unfortunantely, I dont have anywhere close to the tools neccessary to do some of this, so most of it is getting done in a shop. but dang body lifts are expensive to install. anyone wanna make a 100 bucks thats near orlando/ gainesville, Florida? ;)

Hey man,

Im getting ready to venture down this road as well, except I have a 98 2wd EB 5.0 V8.

Best of luck to you sir, and I would agree that there are some very helpful people on here. So grateful that we have a forum like this.

So, the Spindle lift + TT up front, are you sure that there needs to be a body lift up there to clear the 35"s?

im not enitrely sure, but i want to do minimum trimming if any, and I want to be able to keep the EB running boards and flares. Plus, I think itll look better than having minimum clearance (although its mostly for the street). Im not a big fan of the tight wheel wells. Ill be getting everything done hopefully within the month, so when Ill do ill be sure to post some pics and let you know how it turns out. best of luck to you too!

awesome man...I also like the eddie bauer trim as well, Id rather go bigger with the lift then to cut some of it. Sounds like we are doing the exact same work on our trucks! haha. No longer will people call our vehicles a "car". Once its lifted, everyone calls them a truck haha

Do you mind me asking what you paid for your 35"s? Personally, I want to go with a Mud-Terrain T/A type style of tire, something pretty knobby. I also want the tire to be a wide tire, but not ridiculous. I just dont like seeing skinny mud tires haha. Do you have any input on this?

I got the BFG all terrains. All terrains would be better for me because i travel on the interstate a lot. I paid 300 for a used set with about 70-80%tread left. the actual size is the metric 315/75R17 (i think). whatever it was it came about to 35x12.5. Im getting rims that are 17x9 or 17x10. hopefully will have those by the end of the day.

The reason for the wide rims for me is for balance, i heard the wider you go the better for a lifted truck (and my dad already flips out about the expected height and rollover factor). from what ive read mud terrains will be a hit on the gas mileage more so than all terrains, but i dont know if you plan on offroading much.

Boy,
I have to tell you, I think the SOA will be too high in the rear, unless you do a sloped body lift.

Also, you will need to trim a lot to fit 33's following your plan I bet. I really recommend you rethink this all out. Your hubs will really hate 35" tires.

ive seen others on this site that have run SOA + spindle and TT with a BL that seem to fit 35's just fine, if it doesnt come out right ill just find someone to trade my 35s for their 33's, that wouldnt be too difficult i imagine

^^^thanks for the advice though, i reread what i said and realized how ignorant it sounded. definitely didnt mean for it to come across that way.

trade your 35's for 33's..I know you like big tires like i do :D but the wear on your parts will increase tremendously...just think ahead...no one likes replacing parts down the road and with 33's and shackles and a BL the rear wont have to be trimmed...I only had to do minimal trimming in the front not much at all
