I'm thinking of selling mine which brings on this question,

What would you value your Explorer at if you ever decided to sell it?

$1800, tops.

interesting question.

i bet i could get $3500 for mine all day long.

I'd park it up the street from Sam for $8,500

You're from NY which means snow and rust, some city driving I'd imagine and its an 01 XLS not sure of your mileage or the mechanical history. But I agree with Section at the most you could get is $1800.00 being in real good shape mechanical and body/interior wise.

What would I value it it? Probably a million bucks, it's my baby and you can't really put a price on it.
I agree completely. However, I would say no more than $2k. I personally would feel comfortable paying about 2k for a working, decent shape Explorer, but I can't vouch for anyone else.

Id have to agree and say i bet i could get about that too for mine. Explorers run for a decently high price around here but why would i sell it? Id loose my daughter running up to me when i go to pick her and my wife up from work (wife works childcare) yelling "Daddy truck!" and my wife would not be happy because she would have to ride in the Saturn.

LOL i dont think ill ever sell my X but if i had to put a price on her id say $2000 the way she sits. (Very Clean In And Out) but after i put my new rebuilt engine, sandblast the frame nd POR15 it, new rockers, new doglegs and repaint whole truck......PRICELESS. Well to me it would be.

I live in NNY where vehicles are all rusty, but picked up my 97 AWD from Tenn and it's spotless. It probably books for around 2500 but I was offered 4 grand cash for it last month. I couldn't sell it. And I only have a couple thousand into it.

It really depends on vehicle's condition, and the urgency that prompts the sale...

My guess - if the car is pretty and doesn't have to be sold yesterday - would be $2,500-3,000 depending on quite a few other things...

Good luck.

Just sold my '97 fully loaded XLT for $1800.
Needs a few odds and ends, but pretty clean cosmetically, and ran and drove great.

Nailed it. Mine is worth the world to me. Wouldn't sell it for 50x its price. I'd be lucky to get 2-3k for it if I did try.

Was at the dealership getting some parts, and for grins I asked the appraiser what he thought the rig was worth. He looked at real quick and said..."$500 tops, you ruined it with all those mods". Shoulda punched him in the kidney right there and than.

lol Gman... I did the same last time I was at Richmond Ford and I heard,

"$2,000.. I like that you kept the 'factory' look"

That was prior to the new engine..

I love my '99 with 94K on the odometer, but if someone wanted to hand me $5K for it, I wouldn't refuse.

it's worth FAR more than anyone could ever pay me. I finally got a new DD so i can do some work on it...and i haven't stopped driving the X yet. lol.

To anyone else...'97 ex with 202k....yep, scrap price probably.
