Hello all, I have a Northface, the wheels are crap and the clear coat is flaking and has black marks that I cannot get rid off- I was thinnking of having a go myself and restoring these- I feel I could do this and fancy changing the colour also, my X is charcoal green, what do you think would look good, I think black, or should I go with the same as the body?
Has anyone done a colour change to the wheels here-did you do it yourself-what did you change to?

IMO you only get what you pay for when doing wheels.. I think the Northface wheels are horrid anyway.. but that's just my opinion..

I'd take em to a pro n get them done black.

Looked into that, most places want to charge around £100 per wheel, I can get brand new alloys with tires for that....................Ok they wont be fraud ones but will look better I am sure..........Hmmmmmmmmmm.
Think I will go that way in the end- start hunting online for wheel and tire deals.
Cheers!

£100 a wheel? where you going? buckingham palace?

Pristine in Milton keynes don't charge that for a basic refurb... they charged me £104 a wheel for the best finish they do..

The other option is to just switch over to the chrome ones, which hold up pretty well, i.e. not flaking, etc, you do lose a bit around the rim where the wheel weights are though.
