This is air filter hose from OHV with flat air filter. Where is temperature sender?
On OHV with round filter it is in a place inside the red circle. And where is this on this kinda setup?

I'm just not sure
I'd start with your maf how many wires go into it ?
The sensor may be on the intake manifold

my MAF is regular OHV MAF (from round filter box), and this hose on the picture is from OHV with square air filter... does anyone here has this setup? and could enlighten us?

What year truck did you get the parts off of to modify your air intake

Could be because they matched the 98 up flat filter maf sensor to the air flow of flat filter, then incorporated the iat sensor into the maf, using a 6 wire maf sensor.

The round filter setup was correct for your maf, and will flow more air than the flat filter you converted to. Your original air tube provided for the correct iat sensor. Id locate it in the same place

Smart just drill hole and install it

On the early 4.0 the IAT is right near the IAC.

I know the 96-97 Aerostar has the sensor in the tube.

Under the snow cover next to the iac

In the flat filter setup there is no sensor in the tube it is built into the mass air flow sensor you need to find your original sensor drill hole in your intake tube and install the sensor plug it in

Is this what you're trying to do

Here's a Couple of examples of where it should be
