Where is Lamp Out Module???/

I have a 96 limited...

I just replaced mine and it was directly underneath my fuel/car information center. If you dont have the fuel/car information center, it is about 7 inches in front of the cupholders. The panel should just pop right out. Good luck

i take it these modules are for the higher edition ex's.

i have a xlt and i wont have it correct?

first time i'v heard of one of those modules on a ex.

I think that it is only on 2nd gen X with the Message Center. I think the Message Center is included on Eddie Bauer and Limited models, but might be an option on others.

I have the '98 with the message center. Where under the display is the LOM (Lamp Out Module)?

i am not sure. It is directly under mine. It is a little box that is about 2 inch by 3 inches and 1 inch deep. It just has a little wiring harness to it. On where the harness meets the modules it says 'Lamp Outage Module'. Hope that helps.

How do you remove the center console to access the lamp outage module? Are there screws, or other hidden fasteners? I have a 95 Eddie Bauer with symptoms of a lamp outage module.

Where exactly is the LOWM?

On my 95, the module is under the center console. The front of the center console (with LCD panel) is removed without any tools and is just held in by clips. Try pushing the assembly forward (compressing the gasket between the console and the dash) while lifting the rear. It seperates just in front of the ashtray. The lamp module is mounted to the right side of the console with 2 screws. It is a 15-20 pin connector. To troubleshoot, disconnect the module and short pins 14 and 15. If the lights work, then something is wrong with the module. I was able to resolder a few of the connections on the circuit board and repair my module.
