I want to buy some new tires, either BFG, Wrangler or ProComp or something of the sorts. Is there anyplace online that gives cheap quotes? The local tire shop here will match any other quote I can get. Thanks

Check this guy out, he offers free shipping, I have not personally dealt with him but he seems reputable.

try Dead Link Removed , they seem to have very low quotes on most tires, usually cheaper than tirerack

BFG AT KO's have a minimum price set on them

....and they're totally worth it. I was bummed that they raised the price about $7 recently, as I just put new 31's on my wife's truck (I got her old tires for street use on my truck).

The company set the minimum price to $104 when they first came out, and now they're $112. Pretty much any dealer will charge that price.

I talked to the owner of the tire store I go to, and he said they did this to get behind the tire stores. Instead of having to compete with Costco/Walmart, they can compete for customers based on their service quality.

He orders his tires from the same distributor's warehouse as every other tire store does, so if it's not a store brand tire, it's pretty much coming from the same place regardless of the store name.

His opinion was it was a smart move, since dealers now have an incentive to promote BFG products. I suppose when they finally release their new MT, they're going to do the same thing.

BTW, my wife put 20K hard miles on freeway and offroad, and the is less than half used. BFG AT's are notorious for funny wear patterns, so make sure you rotate them every 5K, and they'll last great. The KO's are much grippier/sticker than the original AT's - I rarely smoke my tires now, it's a significant improvement.
