Where to get a clear third brake light on a 93??

ya, the tricky thing that i think is what is true, but dont quote me is: if the car doesnt came STANDARD with a third brake light, then its OK. but if the vehicle had the third brake light, and you take it off, then it is illeagal. kinda like the front license plates for texas (texas people, back me up here if possible). your vehicle comes with a place to mount a front license plate i.e. ford explorer, then you need a plate on the front. but, if your car doesnt come with a plate mount i.e. corvette, then you dont need it on the front. hope this makes sense. i really want to be clear on this, cause i hate my third brake light

Corvettes do come with a tag mount on the front. The nice little section around the Corvette lettering on the front bumper comes off and you mount your plate where it was.

you won't be illegal if you paint it
all you have to do is slap a few round stickers on it before you start painting

such as this
sorry it sucks but if you look you can see how i did mine on my old exp
the light will still function and it looks alot cooler
(plus you get about 10hp out of it)

i painted the 3rd brake light on my f-150 super crew black to match the window sarround with duple-color black paint and the light still shined threw it was still very bright

i would imagine...and this is a semi educated guess as my occupation is law enforcement. that a clear brake lght might be illegal in your state. as is would be very bright and a distraction to other drvers. however n most states altezza or euro tail lghts are ok as long as they have a DOT stamp on them.

if u guys are gunna paint it make sure its no other color then red or ambur i know here in cali u cant have anything but those colors front or back while moving unless like ur backing up...i really dont know how to explain that sry

if u pant it body color and it diplays a....green.blue whatever color glow then its illegal here but if it glows red then its fine
