I had my Kicker ZX750.1 grounded to that same flap. just make sure you have any paint scraped off where the ground is touching. worked like a champ till I lifted mine and now my spare tire takes the place of my subs haha. I want to find out a way to fit one in somewhere around the tire.......

i grounded my amp ... (under the flap piece behind the back seat)

Can anyone explain where exactly you do this? I have a 97 XLT, and need to ground mine in the cargo area, so right behind the backseat would be perfect - thanks.

617ricky,

If you fold your rear seats forward, you should have some basically large, hard flaps we'll call them, that cover the gap between the back of the seats and the rest of the cargo area. if you pull them up they are spring-loaded and attached to a black metal strip at the floor that runs the width of the interior. you can just take one of the bolts out that holds this strip to the floor and take the paint off with sandpaper of something of that sort around where that bolt is and make your ground around that bolt and where you took the paint off with just a ring connector on the end of your ground wire. :)
