where to ground fog lights

Help! I've never done much electrical work and I need to ground my fog lights, what do I attach the ground wire to? thanks a lot

anything metal, like the frame or body, make sure it's not painted or rusty first, grind or sand it down
 






you can back off a bolt under the hood a little and slide the wire under there and re tighten the bolt. or ground it to the negitive terminal on the battery.
 






I usually use the bolt that attach the fog light to the truck assuming bolt are metals. Otherwise the nearest unseen metal part of the truck.
 






If you look closely under the hood you will find several existing body ground connections. If you use an existing ground bolt then you wont need to remove the paint to get a good connection.
 






If you ground fogs to the body, make sure you have a good ground from the battery to the body. Since I run some fairly high powered driving lights, I ground mine directly to the battery to keep the resistance down. High resistance can lead to premature bulb burnout.
