I took all the intake plumbing off right up to the throttle body and I'm getting a whirring (if that's a word) noise from the hole that goes into the IAC valve. I diag'd the valve and it passes all the tests. What gives? I don't want to spent $ to replace a part that's not bad. It's almost as if somewhere in the runner to the valve it's worn to the point where it's able to whistle like that at idle (and only at idle). It's almost like blowing into an empty bottle, but much louder. Is there anything I can do to fix this without buying a new IACV? It operates fine, just that intermittent noise is driving me nuts! Although, I've already told another questioning motorist that it was my super charger, and he believed me... until I'm sure he saw me leave the light at a snails pace. :)
Thanks for the help!

Welcome to the site!

If you use the search function, you'll find a lot of information on this topic. The noise from the IAC valve is sometimes referred to as the "Ford Mating Call." The part is not over expensive; I got a Borg-Warner replacement for around $40 from O'Reilly Auto Parts. Sounds like one you should just replace, sometimes a fix just isn't possible.

Pull the black plastic dust cap off the IAC,that eliminates the noise, try cleaning it.But most here recomend a good cleaning or replacment of the IAC.

Also if you have removed it lately, installing it backwards will cause the roaring noise.

You guys are awesome. I actually already pulled the dust cap off, but was afraid of dirt possibly getting into the engine, bypassing the air cleaner. I guess the hole isn't so large that anything so big will get in there. I'll either do that, try a good cleaning, or just replace the thing. Sorry I didn't try the search function first. I belong to a Grand National site and use it all the time there. Mental block I guess? Thanks again! Have a great day!
