Who got the worst Explorer modifications?

The smittybuilt nerf bars that turned into rust tubes in no time... The damn things retained water and rusted from the inside out... But I ripped then off. My Grizzly grill gaurd was ok, but didn't attach directly to the frame (so its for looks/ lights only).

Black armour carpet protector... It has rubber ribs that you insert though it to prevent stuff from sliding around.. Well heavy stuff just rips them out of place and if you spill stuff it gets under the ribs and stains your carpet (wtf)... I would only get a solid protector in the future.....

I did. I know you mechanics are going to love this one. I actually thought I had a 5.0. So I have bought me a Mac Intake, 8 plugs, wires, MASS, and some other things. They will not fit. I have a 4.0L

Too Funny!!!

$1500 on a clutch job that I was told was better than centerforce- lasted 4 monthes

personal experience with clutches is stick to OE. aftermarkets never last lng

 Cutting out my factory holes out bigger for bigger fog lights, and then learning that they hang to low and crunched them on a rock offroading.

Now I can't sell the front buper cause it's all cut up!:(

That's ok, my first Centerforce lasted 1 day:eek: I brought it straight to their factory and they rebuilt it using tighter springs and a couple other tricks to make it hold... behind my terribly powerful stock 4.0L V6.

At least the revised clutch has held up for a few years.

wasteing $2000 on a "performance" A4LD rebuild that lasted 1 year

blowing cash on balljoints, u-joint's and warn hub's instead of spending it on a SFA then 3months later doing the SFA anyway

$20 screw on exhaust tip that rusted off the pipe in less than 2months

list goes on and on
