Im just guaging interest to see how many people would be interested in custom kickpanels very similar to the Q logic ones for sale for $150 everywhere. If there is enough interest, I will make a mold and make some of these out of fiberglass. Like I said they would be similar to the Q logics. These would be sanded, and I can paint them in a similar color to the OEM color, but I dont know what all the colors are, so they may need repainted to match exactly. I would have to get about $100 a set. If you would possibly be interested, please post here. Thanks guys :D

as co-conspirator i am very interested in these and anticipate their unprecendented success.

Oh, and also these would be for the 2nd gen Xs, maybe they would fit the 3rd gens too, not sure, but would be for 2nd gens for sure...:D

Tell me more, are they for speakers? What size? The kick panels up front right? Any example of those qlogic ones somewhere on the net?

Yep, these hold speakers, I would leave them uncut, so you could put whatever size speaker you wanted in there, up to a 6.25", and there would be a location for a tweeter also. Perfect for components. Yes, these would replace your stock kick panels. Here is a pic of the Q logic ones:

Now for someone who wheels their truck.. wouldn't these put the speaker in an undesireable location for mud/water/snow/grit's sake? I almost bought the q logic ones when I did my setup, would be nice to have 6 speakers in the front of my truck! Talk about front sound stage!

I was wondering about hitting them with my feet too, I guess if you got speakers with a tough outer screen it would be better?

As for wiring it up, I`m not too knowledgable on the HU wiring. do most aftermarket HUs have more than one front speaker wiring configuration, or do you wire them to the ones in the doors? And what about the tweeters?

when you buy a component speaker set they come with a crossover for wiring the tweeters and mids.
you would just splice into the door wires i think.
dont know if that would degrade the power/sound quality????

most of you who get these will want to just take the stock wires that are running to your door speaker and run them to your new components located here. you can do that with a knife or scissor by cutting away the tape and plastic sheeth that is around them enough that you can seperate them from the other wires (like for the lights, and the power windows etc.) far enough that you can get them to your components.

as far as the mud and snow issue, if you worried about it you can put a thin piece of foam between the speaker and the porous speaker grille. they do that with the stock speakers in a lot of cars and it will hurt your sound quality a little, but not that much.

another option with these is to run them off of an external amp. i'm going to be running no speakers off of my head unit with my new set-up. i'll have two sets of components running off of a 500a2 in the front, 4 5 by 7s run off of a four channel in the rear for fill, and two 15s off of an 800a2 in the rear.

will they fit 92's

yes, these will fit 1st gens, 2nd gens, and we think 3rd gens as well.

i want a set let me know when they come out i was going to get qforms but ill support the local business man first

i hope they fit. lol, i posted then thought about it and i'm not sure if they will. we'll let you know for sure soon.

I am not 100% sure they will fit 1st gens, but I will look into it, as I have both a 1st gen X and a 2nd gen X. I will let you guys know. So far I will be producing them, I just need to get the mold made, and it will probably be a couple weeks before I have anything ready. I will use this thread to post updates as I do things :D

I would be interested if they fit a 2000 X...

I would definitely be interested as well

Made some that turned out better than expected, but not quite perfect. Perfect......would cost $600 from a guy I know in NH who is UNBELIEVEABLE at custom kicks. But again......$600.
You may wanna start with the Q Forms from a Ranger. The only additions/changes you'll have to make are to create a backing for them, and to change the width of the side wall wrap around (which is smaller in a Ranger). I could get you a pic or two if you wanna know what I'm talking about.
Best of luck,
Karl

I would be interested if they fit 6.5", I want to add some midbass to my system, not that I can hear it anyway over 4 twelves......

another request.......

Since y'all are talking about working with fiberglass, could you use bondo? Or maybe mix some concrete in the resin to REALLY stiffen up these kick panels? The tougher they are, the more of an enclosure, the better the sound coming out of our speakers.......
I know it can be done, just haven't tried it yet. It's that while $600+ thing again, getting in my way.......

uhh Have you ever played with fiberglass? Once this stuff hardens its pretty stiff. I have my fiberglassing supplys all ready, just waiting for the Q logics to show up so I can see what I can do. If all goes well I will have an answer by the end of next week. :)
