Why are there four o-rings?

I'm going to do a pan drop and filter change for my 5R55E. The new filter kit contains four o-rings. But there are only two places on the filter to hold o-rings (see figure). Where should the extra two o-rings go? Just don't want to get confused when it's a mess under the truck. Thanks!

The picture didn't come out. There are usually only 2 O rings provided with the filter.

too tight of a fit with the 2 big o-rings? then try the 2 smaller ones! its just an option in case one set is too loose/tight.
