Why must I prime the fuel lines?

Hey I don't know what's up but everytime I want to start my ex up I have to prime it at leat 5 times cranks and yes I hear thefuel pump working correctly and then I hear the fuel slaushing around inthe tank. and I nt sure if it is what throwing codes about the IDM. and like every other day it won't start so I pull my ICM in and out (to reset the codes). Has anybody ever had these problems or know what's going on?

Maybe the fuel filter is clogged?

have you measured the fuel pressure to see that it's not coming up when you turn the key on? I would perform a fuel pressure test. Then you can see what the pressure is coming up to, whether or not the system is depressurizing too quickly (bad check valve, regulator, or leak).
You mention some other problems with the IDM. What are they?

Well like every fifth time I want to start up the ex, it won't let me start the engine, unless I pull and reinsert the ICM (thus reseting the codes)
