2007 Explorer XLT V8
Hey all,

I recently picked up a 2007 XLT V8 for a decent price. Fairly clean with a little wear and tear. One of the options that drew me to this vehicle was the AUX jack, so I could plug my phone in for music (mind you, this was a big thing for me coming from a 2004 Ford Snorus that only had a cassette player in it). Turns out, it doesn't have one. The spot it's supposed to be is just a cubby hole. :( But then I got excited again, because right in front of the area with the missing AUX jack, what looks like a factory emblem for SYNC is there. Then I got sad again because apparently they didn't offer them in the 2007 models. The stereo is still OEM.... why would someone put a SYNC badge in their car if it didn't have it? Unless I'm missing something here. Either way, it's frustrating. But I guess listening to MP3 ripped CD's is better than a cassette deck. :D

It's possible the owner before you had an aftermarket deck

i'm sure that's totally feasible, just don't understand why someone would put the badge on there....

is this where it would go on a 2008 model?

Perhaps a trim panel was replaced with a piece technically from an '08 or later model (wich had the Sync label).

That is exactly what I was thinking brakeman, the center trim was hacked for some reason (in bad condition) and the used car lot thought that it was worth just putting in a different trim piece (from a salvage vehicle) to help the sale of the vehicle.

okay, that would make sense. thanks guys. it's fed my OCDness. :)
