wider tire

Hi. I have 2006 EB ex 4.0l v6. My stock tire size is 245 65 r17. I want to ask if I could increase the size to 265 65 r17. A little wider than the stock, do I need to reprogram my car thru Ford IDS

If you use a 265 60 R17 tire (instead of a 265 65 R17), it will be the same diameter/circumference as a 245/65R17 tire but with the extra width.

You can use the 265 65 R17 if you wanted a wider and slightly taller tire. You don't really need to reprogram the vehicle for such a minor increase in tire diameter, since it will decrease as the tire wears. Just be aware that the speedometer will read slightly slower than you are actually going, so keep it a few km's under when going the speed limit.
