OK so I have a 02 explorer with the 4.0 and 4x4. Last week i started getting a wierd click from under the vehicle. At first I thought it was the wheel bearing. But I lifted it up and the bearing hub seems fine and the click sounds like its coming from the front differential. I also noticed a fluid leak from the differential and got fluid all down the underside of the truck. Could a loss of fluid cause the noise or is there something else I should check? Also the noisde is the same if Im driving no matter what the speed. But it does seem to quite down after it shifts into overdrive until i get over 60 MPH.
