will a fuel pump out of a non flex fuel explorer work with a flex fuel?

i have a flex fueled 2003 with the 4.0 made in oct of 2002 and the fuel pump went bad..i dont have the $400 it costs for a new flex fuel pump so was wondering if i could use a non flex fuel pump

im pretty sure that it would work, have to check part numbers. I think the only difference in the flex is how the computer is programmed.

Interesting info here! One might wonder, what could differ between a "gas" or "flex-fuel" pump physically, other than possibly relief or delivery pressure....since injectors are "fixed", and fuels can be mixed in the tank in any proportion from a bit of flex to only flex, the PCM really has no way of knowing.....some may think me "sick" for trying to second-guess a lot of things, eh? imp
