Will Ranger 06 automatic trans fit Explorer 1999?

Looking for a new transmission for my 1998 Explorer 4.0 sohc

Will a transmission from a Ranger fit? It says the automatic transmission is out of Ranger 06

Here are some codes off the gearbox...

6L5P 7000 EA '977
ASGA1 200905 000095

and off the transfer case... P90GT-7A040-CAR
VIII/2b R3T9A

Just worried that even if it bolts up the electrics wont run it.....

Look at the sensor connector right above the trans range sensor, that sensor is internal on the 99, your wiring won't match up.

Here is a list of transmissions that would fit your 99 Explorer:
1997-2001 Explorer 4.0 V6 models- (5r55e)
1997-2001 Ranger 4.0 -(5r55e)

Basically, most 5r's should fit.

Is that the one on eBay from Hornchurch, Essex, UK? The listing indicates it's for 1992-1994, which would suggest it's a A4LD, also incompatible.
 






That is a 5R55N that will not go in the place of a 5R55E.
