My mom has a 2003 XLT Explorer and here lately the window controls on the driver side door will not work (we have replaced the controls) but also the door ajar light stays on and therefore the dome lights stay on too unless we switch the interior lights off with the override.
It sounds like it is more than likely a short somewhere but is there a logical starting spot to check that would affect both the window controls and the door ajar sensor?
