Wire over Thermostat housing

Hey ya'll, got a leaky thermostat and replacing the housing, ran into a few bumps but got most of the access I need aside from this wire that's really giving me some trouble. I can't locate any place I can 'unplug' it from and there not really any give to push it away from the area.
I have been at this for 2 days, any help appreciated.

It's not a wire it's a vacuum line goes to the intake and the other end ends up under the battery tray Area
The end In the picture goes to a T. Then to either side of the intake
 






Are you guys talking about the dark grey tube running vertically in the pic, or the (loom?) thing with the red stripe?

If it's wires, try to trace anything they go to at either end, which might give a better idea what to do. Is it possible it terminates up at one of the two bulk wiring connectors similar to those shown in this topic?

If so, it might be clipped down somewhere, so you'd pop the clip or pop it out of the clip and also disconnect one of those bulk connectors to get some slack?
 






This wire goes to the crank position sensor, normaly is goes under the thermostat housing.

Yeah but the one with the red line is a wire loom going to crank sensor. Zoom in on first pic, and it's clearly wrapped wiring.
The " hose" is just to left of that.
 






To cleanly get that harness outta the way, and, you gotta do it clean because that's a needed and flaky sensor.

Remove serpentine belt, shroud, and fan, you'll see how that harness routes around the accessories. Be careful and you'll be able to disconnect it from crank sensor, route out of your way and complete thermostat housing repair. Carefully with the clips!!

What I did recently was take out the two sensors. One screwed out, but the other broke out instead of screwing out. I could then finesse the housing out. In reassembly, I removed the sensors from the new housing and re-installed them after the housing was finessed into place. I am not a pro, and also spent days at this.
 






On my '98 SOHC, that crank sensor wire is held in place by a clip on the front of the engine block. The wire must be released from the clip in order to gain enough slack to move the wire off the top of the t-stat housing. That entails removing the alternator and mtg bracket (and, possibly the tensioner...I can't remember) to gain access. I've had plenty of practice at this.
 






Oh yes it is very difficult to gain access to the two plugs (plastic clips) which held the cps harness in place.
It is difficult too to get the two plugs back in if there is no room to work.
As i did my timing job i forgot the cps harness laying around while installing the thermostat housing.
Have to get the thermostat housing out again to get the wire under the housing.
Whith the engine out it was no problem...
