my explorer has a stock sub and i want to install a system...head unit/sub/amp...how do i bypass the stock sub/amp? so just the sub i installed is knocking. thanks
you can get an amp bypass kit for your explorer from most audio places like this: http://www.soundoffaudio.com/item.cfm/id/533
or you can solder the wires together yourself, thats what I did, saved myself $15.
I don't understand your question. If you are installing a new head unit, amp(s) and sub(s), you will not "bypass" anything. You will simply wire the new head unit and amp for power and hook RCA cables and a turn on lead between the two. Speaker wire from the amp to the speakers.
One thing I do suggest is - If you are going to purchase a new head unit, amp and sub, go ahead and get a multichannel amp to power at least the front stage. You can then save up to upgrade the front speakers later.
